The office at 180 Fairfield Road, Fairfield was completely destroyed by flood waters; however, Raine & Horne Fairfield/Yeronga is still in business, according to resilient co-principals Diane Sims and Cheryl Holland.

The plucky Ms Sims said the floods have wreaked havoc on their livelihood, but they are working hard to keep Raine & Horne Fairfield/Yeronga operating, and are set to move to a demountable office at the Fairfield Gardens Shopping Centre, 180 Fairfield Road, Fairfield in the car park as soon as possible.

“Apart from our office, 18 of our rental properties went under, so we are assisting the tenants find new accommodation,” said Ms Sims.

“Similarly we are supporting the landlords assess the damage to their property investments.”

As a temporary measure Raine & Horne Fairfield/Yeronga operated from the garage at Ms Sims’ Annerley home, however Brisbane’s renowned summer heat and no air conditioning forced them to look at alternatives.

“We want to be onsite, visible and accessible to all of our clients,” said Ms Sims.

“Along with sales, we are doing absolutely everything to maintain our property management business, and would like to thank our landlords for their support and understanding.

Diane and Cheryl also want to thank the local community for its enormous support for Raine & Horne Fairfield/Yeronga.

“People turned up with food and cups of tea for the clean up team. They bought brooms and mops to help with the clean-up as well. It was overwhelming,” said Ms Sims.

“We have also been thankful to our many colleagues from across the Raine & Horne network who have been in touch to offer support, including Kim McHardy, the principal of Raine & Horne Chermside, who turned up unannounced, to help out.”

Angus Raine, CEO of Raine & Horne, who recently visited Diane and Cheryl, said the durable duo demonstrated a number of key traits typical of the Raine & Horne network.
“Cheryl and Diane are so tenacious and have never given up, and will never give up,” said Mr Raine.

“They are on their knees, exhausted and tired, yet are still doing all they can to help tenants and landlords deal with the impact of these tragic floods.

“They really embody Raine & Horne’s logo of “We’ll look after you” even in their most difficult hour, and I am very proud of the way they have conducted themselves through this trying ordeal.”
