Every Christmas Eve throughout the world it is customary to leave a treat for Santa to refuel him for the rest of his night’s journey. In the United States the tradition is to leave jolly old St Nick milk and cookies, while in Australia it is typical for a beer to be left for Santa. Usually the beer left is one of the many large scale brews produced by Australia’s major brewers. This year however, online beer retailer Beer Cartel (, has specially designed a Santa and Reindeer back to provide Santa with craft brewed beer to get him through his busy Christmas Eve.

The concept behind the pack is to draw attention to the 500 plus craft brewed beers, produced by over 120 ‘craft’ breweries throughout Australia. The beers created by each brewery are designed and sought after for their quality and flavour as opposed to the ‘brand’ that any beer marketing represents. Further, the craft breweries are typically 100% Australian owned, unlike the major brewers who have an element of foreign ownership.

The Santa and Reindeer pack includes one Australian craft brewed beer from a leading craft brewery and one packet of beef jerky to provide Santa with a salty snack as he enjoys his beer.
