Perth’s queens of jazz and cabaret, Ali Bodycoat and Julia Jenkins, unite in this special Christmas presentation, ‘Jazz Noel’, to launch the City of Subiaco’s summer concert series – [email protected]

Accompanied by a three-piece band, these ladies will perform dazzling renditions of classic festive-themed tunes and will rouse your festive spirit with songs in the style of Judy Garland, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole, and featuring favourite Christmas tunes such as Santa Baby, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and Winter Wonderland.

Well regarded as one of Western Australia's most talented and respected professional jazz vocalists, Ali Bodycoat has established herself as an unrivalled force in the local jazz industry. A regular feature at The Ellington Jazz Club, Ali performs sold-out shows with the Ali Bodycoat Quintet.

A true testament to Ali's electrifying talent and undeniable charm is the highly coveted residency she has held at the Subiaco Hotel for a staggering fourteen years, performing with her trio every Wednesday night. Ali is also a regular performer at Jazz Fremantle and The Perth Jazz Society. Chosen to support Marcia Hines in her 2008 concert at The Vines, Ali has also supported David Campbell, Vince Jones and Grace Knight and worked with some of Australia's greatest jazz musicians.
No stranger to a standing ovation, Julia Jenkins has performed as a jazz, cabaret and music theatre artist for over ten years, her potent voice captivating audiences with its distinct sound.
Julia honed her craft treading the boards in musical theatre. Her credits include Maureen in the Western Australian premiere of Rent, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Velma Kelly in Chicago and Mama Rose in Gypsy, receiving critical acclaim for each of these power-house performances. Julia also appeared as Kate in the world-premiere of new musical Some Kind Of Beautiful, wowing audiences with her emotive portrayal.
Exuding a vibrant stage persona, Julia is regularly invited to perform special guest appearances at various cabarets and events. She has performed at the 2010 Perth Fashion Festival, Jazz On The Rocks at The Quarry Amphitheatre, Fanny LaRue's Night Of Splendour, The Girlie Show, Bling, The San Nicola Festival, StyleAID, The State Arts Awards, Stage, and the The Activ Foundation Charity Gala.
“We are really thrilled to be a part of the [email protected] series. We’ve got a great line up of jazz and swinging Christmas songs to get you in the festive spirit, and we’re joined by some incredibly talented musicians. It’s going to be a beautiful evening,” said Julia Jenkins.

Celebrate the start of holiday season this Sunday in the beautiful surrounds of Subiaco Arts Centre Theatre Gardens, between 5pm and 7pm, with these delightful Christmas Belles.
