Target is hoping to spread a little love, joy and hope to Australian consumers with the retailer giving those who make purchases this December the chance to share in $160,000 in cash prizes to help pay their mortgage.
“This is one of the biggest instore competitions Target has ever held and is part of our overall planned customer campaign this Christmas revolving around the theme love, joy, hope,” said Murray Chenery, General Manager, Marketing.
The competition, which will see one winner in each state and territory of Australia take home $20,000, is open to shoppers who spend $75 or more in one transaction between the 6th and 24th December in any of Target’s 290 Target and Target Country stores nationwide.
“Consumers are facing increased costs of living and winning $20,000 towards their mortgage or on other costs at the winners’ discretion, we hope will help relieve some of the financial pressures faced at this time of year,” said Mr Chenery.
“Whilst paying off some of their mortgage is a big incentive for some people, this money could also be used for those who may be saving for a house deposit, a holiday, a new car or even day to day expenses. Very rarely do you get $20,000 in one lump sum - so it really does provide so many opportunities for the winners.”
To enter the competition, shoppers will need to keep their receipt and enter their details through the Target website.
“Each time you come into Target and spend $75 or more in one transaction you receive the chance to enter the competition. Spend $150 or more in one transaction and get another chance to enter for each $75 increment you spend. Target understands that customers like to shop a number of times in the lead up to Christmas so we haven’t limited our customers to only one entry in the competition. The more times you shop and spend, the more chances you get to enter. So when you shop at Target this Christmas you’ll get great value and quality products, as well as the chance to take home $20,000,”said Mr Chenery.
Eight prizes of $20,000 are to be won nationwide and the full terms and conditions are available at www.target.com.au. The competition begins on Monday 6th December, 2010.
