Friday, November 12th, 2010 - Enablence Technologies Inc.
OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA--(Marketwire) - Enablence Technologies Inc. ("Enablence" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: ENA), a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) equipment for triple-play residential and business services and optical components and subsystems for access, metro and long-haul markets, has released a new 10GigE IP switch and transmission module for its Multi Services Access Gateway (MSAG) platforms that allows service providers to upgrade their access networks to 10 Gbps.

The new IP switch module allows service providers and network operators using Enablence's BroadAccess-1000E and 300E MSAG platforms to easily and economically upgrade their existing network architecture to 10G. Operators gain increased bandwidth capacity to handle the traffic demands created by the adoption of multi-service packages that include ultra-fast Internet, HD/IP TV and advanced voice.

Key features include:

-- A high capacity Nx10GigE network interface

-- Support of resilient 10Gbps Ethernet ring transmission

-- Advanced VoIP Gateway functionality

-- Circuit Emulation over Ethernet support

Enablence's BroadAccess product line was acquired as part of the April 2010 merger with Teledata Networks. The BroadAccess is an advanced 400Gb/s broadband platform, which provides wireline service providers with an optimal solution for delivery of advanced multi-play and business services over copper and fiber, and enables a smooth migration to Next Generation Networks and FTTx network architectures. It supports the applications of an IP-DSLAM, a VoIP Access-Gateway, an Ethernet Access switch and a GPON OLT.

"Our new switch is the superior choice for international customers who want to maximize the useful life of their existing copper networks and have the option to evolve to a next-generation fiber architecture," said Eran Ziv, President of Enablence's International Systems Division. "With these 10G transmission capabilities, our BroadAccess architecture provides a high level of performance and resiliency that our competitors cannot match without requiring their customers to invest in additional external equipment."
