Halifax Vogel Group (HVG) has made another move to increase its presence in the blinds and awnings market, announcing the appointment of Maria Macri as Business Development Manager, Blind/Awning in NSW.

In the new role, Ms Macri will be responsible for developing new accounts in both the retail and manufacturing sector of the market and enhancing the profile of HVG’s Visiontex outdoor awning mesh.

Her appointment is part of HVG’s continuing investment in the blinds and awnings market and follows the launch of the Visiontex website – www.visiontex.net.au – in September.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of building the Visiontex product, which is new to the Australian market, into a well-known and respected brand that manufacturers and retailers will ask for by name,” said Ms Macri.

The Visiontex outdoor awning mesh range, which also includes Visiontex Plus and Visiontex Solar, offers greater versatility for awning, patio, pergola and drop blinds, screens, caravan awning walls, marine canopies, light weight sails and umbrellas.

Ms Macri is no stranger to the decorative fabrics industry, having previously worked as a sales representative for Elliott Clarke, a high-end wholesaler of soft furnishings and upholstery fabrics.

“HVG has made a long-term commitment to increasing its presence in the blinds and awnings market and we are delighted to have found someone with Maria’s passion and experience for the role of Business Development Manager,” said Daniel Gollan, Business Manager, HVG Decorative Fabrics and Films.

“Maria has been a part of the fabrics industry for 11 years, working with both retailers and manufacturers, and I’ve no doubt she will be a huge asset to our company as we move ahead with this exciting stage of growth and investment.”
