The 21st Annual Pride Festival was officially opened by The Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Universal Bar and Cafe. Proudly supported by major sponsor the City of Perth, this year’s Pride Festival theme is “21 – Looking through the Keyhole” .

2010 marks the 21st anniversary of the historic rally of gay and lesbian Western Australians on the steps of Parliament House. With a theme of “21- Looking Through the Keyhole”, the 2010 PrideWA Festival is aimed at celebrating the rights and freedoms of lesbian and gay people living in Western Australia.

Pride Media Liasion Mark Hamer said “The Pride Festival provides an opportunity for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and other same sex attracted people , to stand up and be counted as proud members of the local community.

This year’s Pride Festival showcases a variety of events over 3 weeks including the Pride Film Festival, Theatre Performances, Club Nights, Comedy nights, Sporting events, Community events and many more.

This year’s Pride Film Festival brings to life the classic “Sound Of Music”. Watch the original 1965 movie on 35mm in glorious techicolor and sing your hearts out. Other films include Ladies Please, The Topp Twins and Eating Out 3 to name only a few. Proudly hosted by the Astor, this year’s film festival shouldn’t be missed. This year PrideWA is holding a Queer Youth Under aged Party. The party will be held on
Saturday 16 October 2010. PrideWA is calling on all underaged Queer Youth to support this event. It's not a night to be missed.

Pride finishes its historic 21st year with the annual Pride Parade which travels through the streets of Northbridge on Saturday, October 30 2010. Crowds can expect a huge celebration of the progress Pride WA & the WA GLBT community have made over two decades.

Connections Nightclub and Pride WA proudly present the 21st annual, OFFICIAL Pride Party!

The party does not stop on the street. The official Pride After Party will be held at Australia’s longest standing gay venue, Connections Nightclub, from 9pm.

Connections Nightclub and PrideWA are proud to present, Neon Ballroom: The Official Pride Afterparty. Each year the Pride party brings together the community to celebrate the end of the festival. The party will take place immediately after the Pride Parade on Saturday 30th October 2010.

The event will be spread across four different party spaces including the main room of Connections Nightclub, The Terrace Bar, The Garden downstairs and an all new transformed Neon Wonderland dance space in the old Plaka building. Set up will include four bars, two dancefloors, two stages for performance and DJ’s, and two open air smoking areas.

Pride will also be staging a Pride Womens After Parade Party on Saturday 30 October 2010. This event will be held at The Bakery in Northbridge from 9.30pm.
