- Rugged and quick deploy Explorer terminals ordered to support U.S. DoD
- Customers operate in remote operations and rely on customized communication solutions
- Multi-year IDIQ GSA Schedule 70 extension awarded enabling innovative SATCOM products and services
Globecomm announced today that it has secured nearly $7 million in multiple United States Government contracts to supply multiple configurations of its Summit and Explorer Pre-Engineered product line of satellite communications terminals.
Many of these terminals are currently ARSTRAT certified in X and Ka-bands to operate with the U.S. Department of Defense's Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) constellation.
"Governments and enterprises alike continue to rely on Globecomm for our pre-engineered family of products," said Jason Juranek, Globecomm interim CEO and CFO. "These orders represent greater than fifteen years that the US Government has been purchasing our terminals and substantiates its continued trust in Globecomm's breadth and quality of satellite terminal solutions for secure and reliable communications."
Globecomm's Summit fixed earth station antennas come in configurations ranging from sub-meter to 16.1 meter, customized for each installation from a field-proven set of pre-engineered modules that provide high reliability satellite communications (satcom) and fast turn-up at a very competitive price. In contrast, Explorer satellite terminals are available in sizes ranging from sub-meter up to 4.9 meters. Depending on the customer's satellite communications requirements, they can be configured as manpacks, flyaways (either auto-aligning or manual) or as trailer or vehicle-mounted satellite transportable terminals.
Summit earth stations include all electronics (L through Ka-band and all intermediate frequencies) needed to meet the customer's requirements, either integrated into the antenna or within a separate shelter or building.
Explorer mobile earth station antennas with integrated satcom electronics (L through Ka-band and all intermediate frequencies) are suited for a wide range of military, government, institutional, business and other applications.
In addition, Globecomm announced the U.S. Government's Office of Integrated Technology Services has renewed its GSA Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) General Services Agreement Schedule 70 Federal Supply Schedule Contract, Option Extension for an additional five years. Globecomm's listing on the GSA Schedule 70 contract vehicle allows federal, state, and local governments to acquire innovative satcom products, services, and solutions at the best prices.
