Sydney-based Messy Design has been awarded a finalist nod at the prestigious 2010 Desktop CREATE:Awards.
Held at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne last Friday, the annual Desktop CREATE:Awards celebrate Australian creative industry talent over a range of disciplines.
Messy’s self-promotional piece “Typeface – A study by Messy Design” was one of only four finalists announced from approximately 750 entries submitted for the Print Creative category.
The entry communicated the importance of good typography in a humorous and engaging way by using altered faces of Messy Design staff members. “You wouldn’t do it to your face, so why would you do it to a typeface?”
The piece can be viewed at http://www.messy.com.au
Aside from this placing, “Typeface – A study by Messy Design” has also been receiving global attention, appearing on several international design blogs, most notably “For Print Only” http://www.underconsideration.com/fpo/archives/2010/08/messy-design-self-promo.php
As a newcomer to the awards scene, Messy was thrilled to have made the final four and look forward to entering more industry competitions in future.
