Tuesday, September 14th, 2010 - Raine & Horne
Mining and oil projects have produced a number of green shoots for the Queensland property market, and as a result, Raine & Horne is expanding its franchise development business in the Sunshine State.

The leading property group has appointed experienced Business Support and Development Managers Joanna Boyd and Isaac Goodland to support its 80 strong office network in Queensland.

“The Queensland property market has provided some challenges over the last three years, as a result of the GFC, however buyer enquiry is picking up, particularly in the north of the state, as a consequence of more investment in mining and gas projects,” said Angus Raine, CEO, Raine & Horne.

“As the market responds to investment, an improved jobs outlook and a more stable interest rate environment, Raine & Horne offices will be well placed to take advantage of the bounce with the very best products, services and training support.

“Our offices in Queensland also deserve the very best support from Raine & Horne’s corporate team and this is our motivation for appointing the new managers.”

Mr Raine added Raine & Horne is in the recruitment market for additional headcount to join its existing franchise development team in Queensland.

Ms Boyd will be responsible for Raine & Horne’s offices in Brisbane’s north, the Sunshine Coast and Central Queensland, and she joins Raine & Horne after a career of almost six years in real estate.

This includes a stint with another property group for the last three years, while the former Kiwi has also worked in marketing and business development for a number of leading hotel brands such as Hilton and Accor in Australia and New Zealand.

Ms Boyd also owned a recruitment agency, specialising in real estate recruitment.

As a state manager based in Queensland, Ms Boyd played a major role in office retention on behalf of her previous employer, which is a major achievement given the troubled business and economic environment since 2007.

“We made certain every real estate office played to its strengths, and we regularly reassured them they could rely on head office support as they negotiated the GFC,” explains Ms Boyd, who prides herself on building lasting business relationships.

Ms Boyd considers Raine & Horne’s super brand status, its industry leading www.rh.com.au, the xtranet and customer relationship management system rhCompass as excellent value adds for existing offices, and for those considering joining the network.

“Raine & Horne’s commitment to training also puts it ahead of the rest.”

Mr Goodland, who is responsible for Raine & Horne’s offices in the south of Brisbane and its rural business, has enjoyed 14 successful years in the real estate sector.

“I have worked for some of the industry’s leading brands in sales and franchise development in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide,” says Mr Goodland, who grew the network of a previous employer in Brisbane and Sydney from eight offices to 70 in four years.

Prior to his Raine & Horne appointment, Mr Goodland was a state manager with an Adelaide-based real estate firm for five years, and was responsible for increasing revenues by 25% in his first year.

“Raine & Horne in Queensland is enjoying an upward trajectory and I am very confident we have a very competitive and comprehensive franchisee offer compared with the opposition.
“The company has a flat management structure that creates an excellent environment for decision making and for responding to trends in the market quickly.

“This will be critical for every real estate office as the Queensland real estate market continues its gradual return to form,” he added.
