Arakawa Japanese Restaurant at RACV Royal Pines Resort has been named as the Gold Coast’s top place to dine in the 2010 Savour Australia, Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence.

More than 80 Gold Coast restaurants and caterers were independently judged on the quality of food, presentation, service and ambience, and the winners announced at an awards ceremony held earlier this week.

Arakawa took out the main award for Best Restaurant on the Gold Coast as well as the award for Best Asian Restaurant and will now compete in the Queensland state finals held in Brisbane later this month.

Joining Arakawa in the winners’ circle was Royal Pines Resort’s Kalinda Restaurant that took out the award for Best Family Restaurant.

RACV Royal Pines Resort General Manager Greg Magi said the varied dining options at the resort were very popular with guests and the awards won by the Arakawa and Kalinda restaurants show they are very well regarded by the Gold Coast community.

“Our restaurants are a very important feature in making this a wonderful and inclusive Resort and to receive such dining awards demonstrates our commitment and attention to detail in providing great dining experiences for all members, families and guests,” he said.

Arakawa Restaurant offers a range of traditional Japanese dining options including fresh sushi, traditional a la carte dishes served in tatami rooms and all the entertainment provided by teppanyaki chefs as they prepare your meal at the table.

Kalinda Restaurant’s impressive seafood buffet comprises the freshest selection of Australian seafood, a range of fresh salads and hot and cold dishes including roast carvery and sirloins cooked right before your eyes in the chef’s interactive cooking zone. The children’s menu is terrific value and changes seasonally and during the holiday periods offers a special ‘kid’s only’ buffet.

RACV Royal Pines Resort boasts a total of five restaurants and bars, including the newest restaurant to the Resort’s stable, Trattoria Amici, all offering a variety of cuisines, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service.
