Thursday, June 24th, 2010 - Belmont Business Enterprise Centre (BEC)
The 2010 Belmont Small Business Awards was officially launched by Hon. Dr Craig Emerson, Minister for Small Business at the City of Belmont Civic Centre.

The Small Business awards are organised by the Belmont Business Enterprise Centre (BEC), a non-profit community association that provides business counselling and guidance to persons wishing to start or grow their business.

Belmont BEC Chair Tim Hammond said, “The Small Business Awards, which have been running since 1994, provide a great opportunity for small and growing enterprises to be recognised for the hard work they do in putting their business ideas into practice, and celebrates the creativity, energy and achievements of Belmont and WA Small Business.”

This year sees more than twenty award categories open to local & WA businesses. Some of the categories include eCommerce Web Site Award, Business Woman of the Year, Fashion Industry Award, Best Marketing Award, Spirit of Austral ia Award, and Environment Award.

Previous winners have found the awards a fantastic launching pad to bigger and better things and this year’s awards will be no different. Many of the categories are open to any small business from across the Perth metropolitan area and across Western Australia.

Major sponsors of the awards include the City of Belmont, Belmont Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) and the Textile, Clothing, Footwear Resource Centre of Western Australia Inc. (TCFWA). Other valuable sponsors include Perth Airport, Belmont Forum, Australia Asia Association, Southern Gazette Community News, Burswood, Westpac, Hanssen Project Management, SBDC, Westways Colorgrafix, Watering Concepts, Racebreed, Australian Network Management, BPW Australia, and Create Enterprises.

Belmont BEC can provide assistance to firms in the preparation of submissions for their entry into the 2010 Belmont Small Business Awards.
