Commodity Trader Chooses Robust, Scalable Application to Give Control Back to Users

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire) - Thunderhead, recognized innovators in multi-channel communications solutions, today announced that Trafigura has selected the Thunderhead NOW platform to streamline the creation and delivery of trade confirmations, invoicing and other documentation.

With a 2009 turnover of US $47.3 billion, Trafigura is a leading independent commodity trader, and has diversified into asset management. In the oil sector, the company has access to over 45 million barrels of storage facilities. Trafigura owns and operates mines in Peru and various concentrate storage facilities in Africa, China and South America. Trafigura also owns LME approved warehouse facilities in Asia, Europe and America.

Trafigura selected Thunderhead NOW to return control to business users in the critical area of trade documentation generation. The company will be able to improve its documentation generation process, while retaining consistency and speed and, crucially, reducing dependence on IT.

"We needed rigid control over confirmations and invoicing and chose Thunderhead because it would give control back to our users. Thunderhead NOW does one thing, and does it extremely well. It's a proven, highly regarded product in the finance industry," said Dr. Mike Davies (CIO) Trafigura.

"We are delighted that Trafigura chose Thunderhead," said Thunderhead CEO Glen Manchester. "Thunderhead NOW will not only give Trafigura essential control over its trade confirmation and invoicing, but also enable it to scale its business without having to scale IT, ramping up efficiencies to achieve significant cost savings."
