No woman needs an excuse for a girl’s night out, but for anyone looking for one, how about helping mums with cancer?
Local Brisbane charity, Mummy’s Wish, are in the final month of their Paint the Town Red Campaign, and in support of the campaign, a Sex and the City 2 movie night has been organised at Dendy Cinema, Portside.
The night has been organised by Linda Crowe, a newly recruited supporter of the charity and their campaign, who became involved to support a friend who has been diagnosed with cancer, while also being a mother of a young child.
“To support our friend and the other mums out there, I have decided to join the Paint the Town Red campaign - to raise funds for Mummy's Wish as well increase awareness of the vital importance of blood donation” Ms Crowe said.
Tickets for the event are $30 and will include pre-drinks, finger food, and movie tickets, as well as popcorn and water to enjoy during the movie.
Tickets must be prepaid, as numbers are limited. To purchase tickets, people can email [email protected] and register their name, or names if they are organising a group.
There will also be a lucky door prize, and raffles drawn on the night.
Mummy’s Wish have been running the Paint the Town Red campaign, since April, in collaboration with the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, in order to raise funds to support the work they do, and raise awareness of the link between blood donations and cancer patients. Supporters of the campaign have registered as ‘painters’ on the Paint the Town Red website, and held events to raise money and awareness.
