A new book written by South Australian businessman Tim Seymour-Smith has been recently released, and made available for free download on his business website at http://wayoung.com.au

Titled "The Consumers' Guide to Designing Outdoor Structures", the first release e-book takes a comprehensive look at the principals behind the design and construction of outdoor fabric structures.

"The enormous rise in popularity of fabric structures in Australia, as solutions for problem areas requiring shade or all weather protection, has given rise to this book" says Mr Seymour-Smith, who has spent the last 15 years working within the industry.

"Fabric structures such as shade sails and tension membrane structures can incorporate extremely complex yet visually exciting geometrical patterns, and so adequate consideration given to both the function and form of the designs right from the outset is paramount".

The book explores planning and budgetary considerations, fabric options and warranties, the different shade requirements of people over plants, relevant council considerations, and the principals behind designing fabric structures for both residential and commercial situations.

A detailed discussion of all of the different fabric structures available - including shade sails, tension membrane structures, awnings, retractable roof structures, cantilever shades, and permanent umbrellas - concludes the book along with a look at some of the resources available on the web.

"I wanted to give our clients a bit of an understanding of the fabric structure design principals prior to entering detailed discussions with them" said Mr Seymour-Smith. "That way, the absolute best outcome can be assured for all parties".

The e-book is available for free download, simply by registering at the company's website http://wayoung.com.au. Tim also manages his blog on the website, exploring all sorts of issues that arise in the world of shade sails and fabric structures, including a Video FAQ page where staff answer questions posed to them by their clients.
