Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 - ANZA Technnology Network
ANZA Technology Network, in partnership with the New South Wales Government Department of Industry and Investment and Advance, announces its Gateway to China Pilot Program, June 12-18 in Shanghai, PRC.

Five innovative New South Wales companies have been chosen to take part in the program. They are:

• Battery Energy Power Solutions
• EcoRiders
• GreenCollar Climate Solutions
• LAVA: Laboratory for Visionary Architects
• PowerSense

“Spanning green building and architecture, energy and climate change these visionary companies represent the breadth of Australian innovations that are critical to China’s future. With the support of NSW and our mentors in Shanghai bringing their business contacts to meet with these companies we expect this pilot program to open doors to great opportunities,” said Viki Forrest, CEO of ANZA Technology Network.

The Gateway to China pilot program is modeled on ANZA’s successful Gateway to the US program. More than 15 New South Wales companies took part in a full-day workshop in Sydney earlier this year and completed a rigorous assessment of their potential in the China market – from both investment and partnerships perspectives. While in Shanghai, the CEOs of these five companies will be immersed in a week of China business practices and one-on-one meetings with potential customers, partners and investors.

“Our in-market networks are the cornerstone of ANZA’s programs, and we have spent the past year working with Advance to develop relationships with entrepreneurs in China with a keen interest in forging a viable China-Australia innovation connection,” said Forrest.

The NSW government backed the initiative in tandem with Expo 2010 in Shanghai which runs through October 31 this year and is expected to draw more than 70 million people. The Gateway to China pilot will help maximize these NSW companies’ bids to make inroads in the China market by establishing key connections designed to lead to direct commercial results.

ANZA Technology Network also runs a Gateway to the US program for Australian startups and SMEs interested in a similar foreign market expansion program tailored to commercializing innovation in the US marketplace. This program starts with a series of free webinars in July. Registration for these webinars is now open at:
