Join dirtgirl, scrapboy and Costa the garden gnome on their mission to break the dirtgirlWORLD RECORD for the most mud pies ever made at in one place, from 8-11am on Saturday 5 December (World Soil Day) just behind the Education Precinct in Centennial Parklands, Sydney.
The official count and judging will start at 9.45am with the ditgirlWORLD record announcement at 10am, followed by a final hour of muddy good times. But don't dress up, dress down! Wear grubby clothes because this event is going to get grubby ... big time.
"So many things we use everyday start out in the soil. So it’s important to celebrate the amazing job it does and learn about how we can do little things that will help keep our soil healthy; in our own backyards, community gardens, parks, schools... everywhere!" dirtgirl
The dirtgirlWORLD RECORD is the final event in the Great Mud Pie Bake Off, a fund-raising initiative for kids in schools, pre-schools and community gardens all over Australia to raise awareness about how important soil is for growing food and fibre; and to raise money for home-grown garden projects.
And dirtgirlworld has teamed up with some great eco-companies to provide awesome prizes for participants, including Worm Tech, Eco Toys, Twigz, Eco Kids Organics, Dickers Gardens, Byron Herb Nursery and Nature's Child.
