GET out the lederhosen and head to the Manjimup Gateway Hotel for a load of uber-German fun on October 24.
Now in their third year, the hotel’s annual Oktoberfest celebrations run from midday to midnight and feature a cavalcade of German beer, traditional German food and live music throughout the day.
The German-themed menu features veal schnitzels, fresh and blanched bratwurst sausages with sauerkraut, onion beer sticks and bratwurst or sauerkraut and red cabbage pizzas.
Live music during the day comes from Donnybrook locals Latehorse and Jodie Boni, Bridgetown band The Riders, Manjimup songstress Jessica Moyle, Rose’n’Thorn and Zack Linton.
An extensive range of beers will be available, served in steins to get into the spirit of the day, and prizes will be given for the best-dressed outfits.
Organiser Georgina Tagliaferri described Oktoberfest as a great day for the whole family.
“Start practising your ‘oompah-pahs’ and get ready for good food, good music and, most of all, good beer,” she said.
“For an event like this, we’ve also made our ticket prices extremely affordable to ensure it’s accessible to as many people as possible.
“And we’ve made sure there’s a wide variety of music to keep the good vibes going throughout the day.”
Ms Tagliaferri said the Manjimup Gateway Hotel was an ideal venue for Oktoberfest, given it has become a focal point for the local community.
“At the Gateway, we’re all about the food experience and have a wide range of speciality foods available that use local products,” she said.
“We’re about delivering quality service and interesting and unique functions, such as Oktoberfest, in our newly-renovated hotel.”
