Finding or designing the perfect wedding gown starts as a childhood dream for many women. Bridal stores are stocked full of gowns for women of ‘regular’ sizes, but for women who are fuller figured, options are limited and designs often not flattering!
According to Ibis World in October 2014, (http://www.ibisworld.com.au/industry/plus-size-clothing-stores.html) whilst other retail industries have suffered over the past five years, the Plus Size Clothing Stores industry has flourished due to strong consumer demand. However most retailers are not catering to the plus size bridal industry.
Based on years of disappointment orientated feedback from fuller figured women in Perth, one local couturier, Angelina Arcaro is helping create high class, one-off and unique bridal wear for these women. Angelina has had a long and successful career as a fashion designer, stylist and fashion house manager and has honed her talents as an innovative designer and intuitive patternmaker. Each Arcaro Couture design is made expertly to measure and captures the uniqueness of every woman who wears them.
Arcaro Couture is focused on working with fuller figured women and women that may have difficulty in purchasing a gown that suits their nonstandard figure. Angelina works to meet her client’s expectations, taking into consideration their shape, size and age to ensure a unique Arcaro gown that is customised for the bride to be. This consideration for the unique requirements of each client and an enthusiasm for working with clients that have different body shapes and needs are a key point of difference and a defining strength of the Arcaro Couture business.
Angelina Arcaro said, “My motto is that every girl deserves at least one Couture experience in their lifetime, my designs have been described as innovative, opulent, masterfully cut and different. I especially love working with plus size women to help them look and feel the best they can in their bridal gowns for their special day. I pride myself on showcasing the unique beauty of my clients’ curvaceous and full figures”.
“I have found that larger women can feel very self-conscious about their wedding dress on their special day. They worry about people criticising the way they look. I work hard to create a bridal gown, incorporating feedback along the way from the future bride that perfectly complements the shape of her body and works with it. I accentuate every woman’s best features. There are many tips and tricks I have learned in my 40 years in the industry such as minimising waist lines by increasing the width of the design at the shoulders and hemline. I completed 3 years of life drawing classes many years ago that gave me enormous insight into the female form” Angelina said.
Arcaro Couture has become a sort after design studio for custom designed bridal gowns and evening gowns. Angelina Arcaro and some of her clients are available for interviews and testimonials have been collected.
