Friday, May 21st, 2010 - Achieve More Online
A series of workshops aimed specifically at helping small businesses get online and achieve more has just been launched in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

With workshops commencing in 12 regional and metropolitan locations across WA and the NT in June and July 2010, the program aims to provide small business owners – particularly those in tourism and professional services – with the tools to create a website and an online marketing program that works.

Lisa Gollan, Coordinator of the Achieve More Online program, says it is all about helping small businesses achieve more online in simple steps.

“95 percent of small businesses are connected to the internet, yet only 57 percent have a website and we want to help change that,” Ms Gollan said.

“For many small businesses we work with, they are either daunted about the process of developing their online presence or they have already spent so much time, money and effort on a website and find it is not doing anything for them. They just want someone to show them, in a language they understand, how to get the most out of being online.”

The workshops will run for one day in each location and will include a four hour interactive workshop in the morning and one-to-one mentoring in the afternoon with seven small business specialists.

“We have seven small business specialists who are running the workshops and they will cover areas from business planning and developing your target market, through to website development and promotion – including content, design, photography and search engine optimisation,” Ms Gollan said.

“So we really feel like we have all online bases covered so to speak and we will make sure small businesses go away with a complete action plan – that is simple and easy to use.

“The great thing is that our seven small business specialists are all small businesses themselves, so they truly understand the needs of small business owners.”

Workshops will be held in Albany, Broome, Bunbury, Darwin, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Mandurah, Margaret River and in the Perth metro area beginning in June. The cost of the workshop is just $49 and registrations and more details can be found online at www.businessbalance.com.au/sbo or by phoning 1300 856 274.
