Melbourne, Australia – 01/09/2015 – Future Assembly, Australia’s newest emergent technology festival today opened registration for the first festival scheduled 13-14 November, 2015, in Melbourne, Australia. Attendees and Exhibitors can register today at www.futureassembly.io
Future Assembly was born to provide a platform to hero the Australian tech startup industry and help action change. As reported recently in StartUpAUS 2014 Crossroads report, Australia currently has one of the lowest rates of angel investment and venture capital investment in the developed world. To maintain our global economic position Australia needs to accelerate the use of technology in industry. If nurtured the tech startup sector has the potential to contribute $109 billion or 4% of GDP to the Australian economy and 540,000 jobs by 2033 with a concerted effort from entrepreneurs, educators, the government and corporate Australia (PWC/Google The Startup Economy 2013). Future Assembly exists to help profile, connect and inspire the Australian StartUp community, offering a chance for attendees and investors to discover startups and meet the founders from around the country that are changing the future. When the founders were recently talking with Tim O’Reilly, CEO of O’Reilly media, he stated “Great startup hubs are communities, where people learn from and inspire each other. The first step in building one is to bring people together, so they discover that community.”
The festival is estimated to attract 1000 tech industry leaders alongside a curated selection of 40 exhibitors and startups from Australia and across the globe but with initial traction these numbers could grow to double or triple initial estimates. The 2 day event will provide access to keynote speakers, exhibitors and networking opportunities, as well as curated investor matchmaking events for those exhibiting. The festival will showcase 9 core themes across the schedule of exhibitors and speakers with a focus on IoT (Internet of Things).
INTERNET OF THINGS - ROBOTICS - SUSTAINABILITY - MAKING - HEALTH & SCIENCE - WEB & MOBILE - SPORTS - TRANSPORT - BIG DATA
Some of the StartUps, Disruptors and Enablers already attending include Tesla, Pozible, PwC, Oxygen Ventures, Buzz Products, CoinJar, Techstars, Alchemy One, Two Bulls and many more.
“We have created Future Assembly to be a melting pot of innovation and we want it to be an incredibly inspiring and interactive experience for all who attend.” said Ben Richardson, co-founder of Future Assembly. “This is the event not just for startups and tech enthusiasts but for anyone who is interested in bringing technology into their domain, we are offering an opportunity to network with Australia’s leading innovators, speakers, investors and companies that are all helping shape the future.”

Technology moves in leaps and bounds. With the speed that it moves, capturing a snapshot of the technology currently available is complicated. Future Assembly is that snapshot. Australia's leading and emerging startups will be showcasing products and services that are pushing boundaries in science, health and technology.
In 2015, we’re focussing on the Internet of Things (IoT). In 2008, the number of devices connected to the internet overtook the number of people on earth. The exponential growth seen in the number of connected devices combined with a new generation of innovators, developers and designers means a new wave is about to hit.
