Carol Hanlon, Founding Manager and Business Facilitator of the Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc. established 1994 (Belmont BEC) and Founder, Manager & Mentor of Textile, Clothing, Footwear Resource Centre of WA Inc. established 1998 (including TCF Australia / TCF Global) has been selected to participate in the Australian Government delegation to the 2015 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Women in the Economy (WEP) Forum in Manilla in September 2015. Carol is a public private sector delegate for the Forum.

Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Women said, “I would like to thank Carol Hanlon for her dedication and expertise, and look forward to working with her at APEC WEF”.

Carol Hanlon said, “I am thrilled to be attending the APEC WEP forum in Manilla, and will have the opportunity to engage with public and private sector leaders from across APEC economies on a range of critical issues relating to women’s economic participation. This year the theme of the Forum is ‘Women as Prime Movers of Inclusive Growth”.

As part of the annual APEC WEF Forum, Carol has recently been advised by the Australian Government, Office of Women that she was selected to represent Australia into the APEC ICONOGRAPH exhibition project. ICONOGRAPH gives recognition to the commitment, vision, and leadership of the 21 APEC economies’ extraordinary women from micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs and MEs) who became ‘prime movers’ in their respective field and their societies. ICONOGRAPH will be curated by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry, and the Tao Management Corporation in Manilla for the duration of the 2015 APEC Women in the Economy Forum.

Carol has also been invited to present at a Seminar on ‘Empowering Women through ICT for Inclusive Growth’ on Wednesday the 16th of September at PICC, Metro Manila, Philippines in Summit Hall E, F between 11.20 and 12.10pm. Carol will be presenting the insights and outcomes of the BPW Business Incubator ONLINE Training & Mentoring Project that was delivered across Australia 2013-2014 and also insights from the APEC Multi-Year Project MSCE 03 2013A where in collaboration with the Foundation for Women’s Rights Promotion and Development, Chinese Taipei the BPW Business Incubator Training & Mentoring project was delivered ONLINE to women in five APEC economies that included Chinese Taipei, Republic of Korea, Chile, the Philippines and Australia.
