Avior Consulting is pleased to announce the sale of the business operated by The Meat and Poultry Company Pty Ltd (MPC) and Drovers Pastoral Co Pty Ltd (Drovers) to Flown Pty Ltd, a new, Western Australian, family business.
Avior Consulting's Managing Director, Dermott McVeigh, was appointed liquidator of MPC and Drovers in May this year and has continued to trade the business whilst an appropriate buyer was found and a sales agreement confirmed.
The meat processing business operated by MPC and Drovers employs approximately 71 people and currently has annual revenue of approximately $20 million.
The buyer, Flown, is fully owned by Perth businessmen, Robbie Forrest and Brett King, who operate under a strong family culture focusing on top-level customer service, quality assurance and the sourcing of high quality, fresh products. Mr Forrest and Mr King have already established a strong presence in the meat industry and look forward to launching their new brand through this acquisition.
“This is a very good outcome for both MPC and Drovers as Flown intends to carry on the business which will result in the re-employment of a significant portion of current employees,” noted Mr. McVeigh. “The Avior Consulting team will be working very closely with the new owners to ensure a smooth transition for customers, suppliers and employees.”
“Flown will continue to employ locals and support WA local producers just as MPC and Drovers did,” said Mr Forrest and Mr King. “We also look forward to enhancing the product range and services to our customers.”
The expected settlement date for the sale of the business is 31 July 2015.
