Business technology specialist Viatek has acquired Comcity Technology Pty Ltd, effective 1 July 2015.
Viatek Technology Group Managing Director Jonathan Salmon said Comcity had strong partnerships with industry-leading vendors and distributors, giving it the ability to provide customers with specialist IT resources and technical support, including cloud solutions to a diverse client base.
“The acquisition further positions Viatek Technology as a credible and attractive alternative to the tier one outsourcers in Australia.
“It demonstrates to the market our strong metropolitan and regional presence, our progressive and flexible commercial approach and our breadth of services across enterprise applications, cloud-based infrastructure and managed services.”
Comcity was established in Sydney and Melbourne in 2000. CEO Jason Reading said there would be no change to the business’s award-winning tailored IT services, solutions and support to its customers.
“Comcity’s management and staff will stay the same, so customers will continue to receive the same great service they know. Our holistic and integrated approach will ensure we keep delivering true business-service excellence.”
Mr Salmon said, “As well as Comcity’s technical capabilities, like Viatek, it also focuses on innovation, high performance and delivering business-process improvements to its customers to add real value to their bottom line. Again, Comcity operates with the same aim of understanding customers’ business needs so they can use technology to the best effect for them.”
Viatek Technology Pty Ltd is a division of the Viatek group, which is led by CEO Michael Doery.
Mr Doery said, “There were many synergies with this acquisition and we are delighted to welcome this business to the Viatek group.”
