- CEO Thilo von Selchow: "We have established a special market status in the Mobile Sensing business. The 'Internet of Things' is going to be our next growth horizon."
DRESDEN, GERMANY--(Marketwired - Jun 10, 2015) - ZMD AG (ZMDI), an award-winning global semiconductor company headquartered in Dresden, Germany, and specializing in enabling energy-efficient solutions, is about to enter its next growth phase. According to the company, the major orders won in 2014 from the automotive sector are being executed according to plan, as are the first orders from ZMDI's Mobile Sensing business line. The management board therefore confirmed that the market launches associated with these major orders will see ZMDI's growth course accelerate significantly as of 2016. As a global supplier of analog and mixed-signal solutions for automotive, industrial, medical, information technology and consumer applications, ZMDI is currently presenting its leading-edge sensor technologies at the international Sensors Expo & Conference at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. Products presented at the Sensors Expo & Conference include the ZSSC3154, ZSSC5101 and ZMR5110/5120, among many others.
In 2014, ZMDI won major orders with a volume totaling in the three-digit millions. The focus of these major orders is primarily on high-performance circuits for automotive sensors and for industrial applications. This year, ZMDI also acquired large-volume orders for components for consumer products such as smartphones, tablets and other wearable applications, as well as for digital power management. Adjusting for discontinued operations, ZMDI's core business grew by an average of 15 percent over the last five years. Against this background of strong order placement, ZMDI is also mapping out new ways to finance growth in order to maintain and expand its current growth phase. The options under consideration range from issuing a bond, raising the company capital, or a listing on the stock exchange.
Thilo von Selchow, President and CEO of ZMDI, stated "Our growth strategy is gathering more and more speed. Regarding the execution of the major orders that we acquired in 2014, we are exactly in line with our plans. The resulting market launches will boost our speed of growth as of 2016. ZMDI has also further developed its strategy. We are now working at tier one together with the market leaders in the respective segments. And we have established a special market status in the Mobile Sensing business. The 'Internet of Things' is going to be our next big growth horizon."
Steve Ramdin, Product Line Manager ZMDI Sensing, added that "ZMDI has led the way through the development of sensing solutions for automotive, medical and mobile products. This year, we will be featuring a wide array of product demonstrations within our mobile and multi-market sensing portfolio. Our exciting new products will offer our customers enhanced performance and value, including our new magnetoresistive bridge sensor interface family."
Sensors Expo attendees are invited to visit ZMDI's demonstration booth in collaboration with its distribution partner, Servoflo (http://www.servoflo.com). ZMDI's booth is #322 in the main hall.
