Gill Hicks knows what it’s like to feel desperate and guttered, but she also knows how to fight to survive. Gill will be one of a number of high profile speakers talking part in a newly formed communication and confidence program.
The Shift Academy has been set up in Adelaide by international keynote speaker and comedian Dave Flanagan and FiveAA breakfast host and media trainer Mark Aiston.
Dave Flanagan, has been conducting a number of highly successful government programs over the past five years for people suffering from conditions like shyness, anxiety, and depression. The programs have been used very successfully with work-cover recipients, long term unemployed and even correctional services.
Now this incredibly motivational 5 week program is available to the general public.
'I am so excited to be involved with this ground breaking program...There are so many people who desperately want help to recharge their lives but just don't know where to go. You are what you think' ... are your thoughts standing in the way of a fuller life?' .....I feel this programme is the bridge to that divide'.
“To secure Gill Hicks is just sensational. There are few people who have endured such unimaginable trauma and are able to rejoice and celebrate just being alive. Gill will inspire and motivate those who attend.”
“I love helping and mentoring people, although sometimes I do need to spend that time pulling myself into line. I have been involved in Dave's programs as a speaker, and i've been blown away watching people get back on track and then florish. I believe my personal weaknesses will prove to be my strengths in the quest to mentor and motivate others.”
The academy program aims to help as many people as possible to improve their communication, and confidence, and ability to make positive change and achieve goals.
The Shift Academy is holding an information night on Wednesday May 27th at 7.00 PM at The Comedy Cellar Da Costa Arcade 68 Grenfell St Adelaide 5000.
