Musicworks' 2015 contests are now open to receive entries from anywhere in the world! Musicworks is Canada's only magazine that explores experimental music and sound art. Its two annual juried contests spotlight new and emerging literary and musical talent, offering cash prizes and opportunities to be published and heard.

Electronic Music Composition Contest: Compose a piece in one of the following experimental genres: Acousmatic, Electroacoustic, Glitch, Intelligent Dance Music, Turntable Art, or Video music. Maximum length is 10 minutes. Read about 2014 first-place winner, Bodies-Soundings, by Juno-nominated composer James O'Callaghan.

"Sonic Geography" Writing Contest: "Sonic Geography" is Musicworks' literary essay space. Choose any location -- urban or rural, indoors or outside -- and describe how sound shapes your experience in 500 words. Read our 2014 first-place winner "The Copy Room," and second-place winner "Los Arroyos in Stereo."
