They say everyone has a talent, but in the case of the Fairfield Inn New York LaGuardia Airport/Flushing, it's more like several. Not only does the hotel offer some of the most impeccable hospitality near Flushing Meadows, but it also cultivates great leaders. Case in point: As it bids a fond farewell to its highly regarded general manager, Robert Siemsen, it is welcoming Assistant General Manager Stephanie Vidal to the forefront of its team. And this seamless transition is only the beginning of what promises to be a stellar tenure.

Ms. Vidal's promotion to general manager is both poetic and practical. She began her hospitality career in 2008 as a front desk agent at this LaGuardia hotel. After working on property at other distinguished Flushing hotels and in the greater New York area, she returned to this property as a front office manager in 2012.

Ms. Vidal's accomplishments in that time have repeatedly demonstrated her leadership ability, whether she was working as a team leader for the front desk, or earning any of her numerous certifications, which include Sparkle Training, Crib Safety, P.C.R. and more.

Of course, great leaders must love what they do, and Ms. Vidal's enthusiasm for hospitality is reflected in the range of responsibilities she's assumed over the course of her career. Ms. Vidal has liaised with sales departments, tour operators, airline crews and others while working in various capacities; she has overseen sales, marketing and advertising for a major hospitality-management company; and she has managed budgets, worked to improve guest experiences and facilitated pleasant stays for groups, VIPs and individuals alike at some of the most customer-oriented hotels in Flushing, New York.

Given the extent and scope of her achievements, Ms. Vidal made an ideal successor to Mr. Siemsen, who recently celebrated his four-year anniversary at the hotel. Mr. Siemsen earned a promotion to a sister property within the same management group, thanks to his exemplary work ethic, commitment to superior guest experiences and dependable leadership for his staff.

Ms. Vidal's apprenticeship under Mr. Siemsen, and her impressive track record for inspired leadership and excellent customer service, mean that, with her at the helm, the future of the Fairfield Inn New York LaGuardia Airport/Flushing looks ready to soar.
