Appointment Reveals Agency's Commitment to Discovering and Advancing Key Talent
LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Independent advertising agency Ignited today announced the appointment of award-winning creative Eric Springer to Chief Creative Officer. The new hire is a reflection of the agency's continued investment in top talent. In his new post, Springer will oversee Ignited's entire creative department.
Springer brings over 20 years of experience in the advertising industry, creating award-winning campaigns for top brands including Volkswagen, Levi's, Taco Bell, General Motors and Coors among others. He has won awards at all of the top industry shows such as Cannes, One Show, D&AD, AICP, EFFIEs and Communications Arts. His work is also part of the permanent display in The Advertising Hall of Fame, The Museum of Modern Art and The Smithsonian.
While running the VW account at Deutsch, Springer created the highest rated Super Bowl spot of the year, two years in a row according to Neilson ratings. "Punch Dub" in 2010, and "The Force" in 2011. "The Force" was the most viral video of all time with over 65 million YouTube views and counting. He also helped grow a 15-person start-up into a 400-person machine, leading the agency's transition to digital media, producing fully-integrated digital and viral campaigns on behalf of clients such as Volkswagen, Coors Light and General Motors.
Most recently, Springer held the position of Chief Creative Officer at FCB/West. While running the LA and SF offices, he helped launch Taco Bell's "Live Mas" campaign and land new clients, including Levi's.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Eric to the team as we transition into a new year and new direction for the agency," said Johnson. "He is a proven leader with deep industry connections, and there is no doubt in my mind that Eric will drive innovative work and true value on behalf of our clients."
Prior to FCB, Springer was CCO, Partner at Pitch, where he helped brand and grow the agency into a full-service shop. During his time at the Culver City shop, the agency earned recognition of "Best Small Agency in the Country" by Advertising Age, in large part due to Springer's efforts.
"I am always looking for a new challenge," said Springer. "There is something rewarding about making stuff that matters to people. Stuff that affects them emotionally that they care about. I feel Ignited has lots of opportunities to do this kind of work. There is a lot of momentum right now and I am looking forward to helping drive the agency into this next chapter."
