The Hong Kong Dinner, which followed the inaugural HKTDC "Think Asia, Think Hong Kong" symposium in Paris, was hosted by HKTDC Executive Director Margaret Fong with John Tsang, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR Government as the guest of honour.
Speaking at the Hong Kong Dinner, Ms Fong said she was encouraged by the large number of attendees from France, Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. "Although we come from different backgrounds, have different tastes and speak in different tongues, we are united in our desire to do business," Ms Fong said. "Our 'Think Asia, Think Hong Kong' promotion is an opportunity, on an unprecedented scale, to explore new avenues to expand our bilateral trade and investment flows in a complex and competitive world."
Ms Fong said French businesses seeking to expand to Asia should take full advantage of the HKTDC's global network, in-depth research offerings, award-winning online trading platform, fairs and exhibitions and its series of conferences.
The "Think Asia, Think Hong Kong" promotion will move to Italy tomorrow with a Hong Kong Dinner in Milan (29 Oct) followed by the main symposium on 30 October. Keynote speakers at the symposium will be Jack So, Chairman, HKTDC; John Tsang, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR Government; and Carlo Calenda, Vice Minister of Economic Development of Italy.
