LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- British Mezzo Soprano Carly Paoli made her spectacular international debut this week at a glittering charity event alongside Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson.
Wearing a floor-length black dress, classically-trained Carly gave a flawless performance of her debut song Angel Save Your Love For Me, at the prestigious David Foster Foundation Miracle Gala in Calgary on September 27.
Miss Paoli, who had flown from the UK to Canada for the event, made her entrance along the event's 'purple' carpet where she was interviewed by gathered press before taking to the stage to sing, accompanied by 16-time Grammy-award winner Foster on the piano.
Speaking on the red carpet she said: "I'm super excited to be here. The atmosphere is electric, the venue looks absolutely brilliant and I've seen how amazing the stage looks so it looks like it's going to be a good night."
The event, which took place at the WestJet Campus in Calgary, Alberta, raised $8.2million for children's charity The David Foster Foundation, which helps support families with children needing organ transplants.
After her performance, event host and 16-time Grammy-winner David Foster, the man credited with discovering Celine Dion and who has worked with stars including Elton John and Barbra Streisand, described Carly's performance as "amazing."
He said: "She did amazing. She's got such poise and elegance and she sings so gracefully. It was the perfect point in the show for that moment."
"She went on stage after such a list of greats and she held her own."
Asked about comparisons with other artists he added: "That slot is a little bit open right now. Sarah Brightman has left that slot, so we'll see what happens."
Other guests at the prestigious event included Laureen Harper, wife of the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and the stars of US TV series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The performance followed a private reception on September 26 for guests of the David Foster Foundation and Swiss luxury watch brand Bedat & Co, who recently appointed Carly as Brand Ambassador and Mezzo Soprano in Residence.
