DRESDEN, GERMANY -- (Marketwired) -- ZMD AG (ZMDI), an award winning global semiconductor company headquartered in Dresden, Germany, has collaborated with Altium, Ltd. to develop new schematic and board-level CAD libraries for ZMDI's products. The libraries help engineers expedite their designs and are available directly from the Altium CAD software. Links to the Altium libraries are now available on ZMDI's website, www.zmdi.com, and they can be downloaded for offline use. ZMDI is a global supplier of analog and mixed-signal solutions for automotive, industrial, medical, information technology and consumer applications. With over 50 years of industry leadership, ZMDI enables customers' designs for advanced, energy-efficient solutions.

"In addition to expediting designs for our customers, this new partnership with Altium promotes our products among all Altium users," said Torsten Herz, Applications Engineering Team Manager for ZMDI's Multi-Market Sensing Platform ICs product line. "ZMDI has chosen Altium for hardware development tools because it is one of the most popular CAD tools and has a large population of users. All updates and new components can be done through Altium, so we have a common and unified source when creating designs."

The libraries contain ZMDI's products' symbols and footprints used in schematics and printed circuit board designs (both 2D and 3D). Each component has a short description, a link to the datasheet on ZMDI's product webpage and package information as well as some other useful parameters. Reference designs and board templates can be distributed and updated via this service. Additional information is included, such as bill-of-materials tools for calculating costs.

Libraries are available for the following ZMDI products on these web pages:

- Sensor Signal Conditioner ICs: www.zmdi.com/ssc-tools

- Power Management ICs: www.zmdi.com/zspm-tools
