The entry deadline for the ResourceSmart Schools Awards 2014 has been extended until 5pm on Friday 25 July.
Schools that have already submitted their application have the option to amend and resubmit their application by 25 July should they wish to develop their entry further.
To enter the awards visit the ResourceSmart Schools Awards website and download an entry form and information kit. Telephone support and advice is available by calling 1300 30 26 60 or via email at [email protected].
The deadline has been extended following feedback from schools experiencing difficulty completing entries by the end of term two. Sustainability Victoria hopes the extension will allow all interested schools to submit an application for this year’s awards.
Schools judged as a finalist or winner will be able to share in a $40,000 prize fund to grow their sustainability initiatives and will have their achievements recognised and promoted by Sustainability Victoria. They will also be able to participate in the awards event, hosted by Kayne Tremills and Natalie Hunter, at Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre on 8 September.
Open to all Victorian early childhood services, primary schools and secondary schools, the awards are run by Sustainability Victoria as part of the ResourceSmart Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative, which helps children embed sustainability into their everyday activities.
The theme for the 2014 awards program is Ideas + Action = Change, a reference to the formula for a successful sustainability project.
Entries close 5pm, Friday 25 July.
Entrants should ignore the original closing date shown on entry forms and information kits available to download from the awards website. All completed entry forms received by the new closing date of 25 July will be entered into the awards, along with those entries already received by Sustainability Victoria. Any questions in relation to the entry forms should be directed to the 1300 30 26 60 telephone number.
