The Victorian Government’s ground-breaking Schools Water (& Energy) Efficiency Program (SWEP) has received international recognition for its work to encourage students to become smarter with their water and energy use.

SWEP utilizes ISD Analytics' Simulait technology to analyze behavioral patterns in water and energy smart meter data in order to identify abnormal use such as leaks. Simulait is then able to accurately quantify the financial savings resulting from the program.

Over 480 schools across Victoria have registered for SWEP since its introduction in mid-2012, collectively saving more than 700 million litres of water and around $2 million.

SWEP involves participating schools to install water data loggers to monitor their water and energy usage and detect and rectify leaks. Teachers and students can then log on to a specifically designed website to access their school’s latest consumption data.

SWEP also won the Victorian AWA Award for Innovation Excellence in 2012.
