LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- Yellow Jersey Cycle Insurance (http://www.yellowjersey.co.uk), the Official Cycle Insurer of the PruHealth World Triathlon London (http://worldtrilondon.com/), was hoping for one of the Brownlee's to bring home the proverbial Yellow Jersey for Team GB.
Alistair Brownlee came back from injury last time out in the Series, but despite a gutsy performance he failed to find his form over the Sprint distance at Hyde Park London. He commented, "nobody wanted to take the race on". Although there was an evident slow pace, and despite admittedly almost taking the wrong course, Brownlee was still unable to stay with the winner, Mario Mola Diaz, who went through the tape for his first WTS win. In the post race interview when asked about the Sprint distance format of the London race, Alistair Brownlee commented, "he prefers the Olympic Distance."
The biggest news of the day was delivered as Alistair Brownlee went on to say that "this is most likely the end of my World Series". Both Brownlee's will now focus on the Commonwealth Games. Being in the medals in Glasgow is very much the target for both brothers. Yellow Jersey will be cheering on both Brownlee's and the rest of Team GB at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The day brought greater fortunes for PruHealth World Triathlon London sponsors; Yellow Jersey Cycle Insurance. The Yellow Jersey brand launched only a few weeks ago by three brothers who all compete, or are active in the triathlon and cycling community. Yellow Jersey found that their sponsorship and support of the international triathlon event resulted in unprecedented attention and by the end of day one, has resulted in a great uplift of online sales. The Yellow Jersey brand gained much attention from its niche offering; cycle insurance designed by fellow members of the cycling community.
