Mourquong, New South Wales, For Immediate Release: A new state of the art dried fruit processing facility is being commissioned in Mourquong, creating over 40 local jobs with the assistance of the New South Wales State Government.

The investment in new plant and equipment will support the expansion of Murray River Organics, enabling the locally based business the opportunity for further growth domestically and in international markets. It will also cater for the general development of the region by creating employment for the communities surrounding Mourquong.

Murray River Organics co-owner, Erling Sorensen said he was excited about the opportunities this development created for Australian families in and around the local community.

“Murray River Organics is committed to supplying the Australian people and our customers globally with the best homegrown organic produce available and this level of government support will hopefully help pave the way for our recently launched ‘Gobble’ brand to make its way into every Australian home,” Mr Sorensen said.

“Our new processing facility is ideal in terms of location and proximity to our farms in both Victoria and NSW. The support we have received from both the Victorian and NSW governments has enabled our business to expand considerably in both domestic and international markets” said Mr Sorensen.

NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Stoner, and Member for Murray Darling John Williams, welcomed the company’s investment, which is being supported with assistance from the NSW Government’s Regional Industries Investment Fund.

“The company’s investment is great news for the region and for the State,” Mr Williams said.

“Murray River Organics is a major Australian success story and the NSW Government is proud to be supporting the company’s expansion,” he said.

The new processing facility is expected to be fully operational by June 2014 with the creation of at least an additional 40 full time jobs throughout 2014 and 2015.
