The residents and staff of the Aveo Peregian Springs Country Club retirement village hosted a moving service to commemorate the Anzacs on the 25th of April at the village’s Manor monument.
Over 150 people attended the service including village staff and residents, as well as their friends and family members.
During the emotional service, Commander Steve Hill addressed the crowd, and wreathes were laid to honour the ex-services personnel as well as the family members of the deceased.
Principal Reverend Chris Ivey of the neighbouring St Andrews Anglican College attended the service along with his family and several of the school’s senior students. The Last Post was proudly performed by one of the students.
Following the moving service, all who attended came together for a commemorative morning tea of Anzac biscuits and sandwiches, all of which was organised by a dedicated group of residents.
