“Introducing BI to a publicly funded German university – with mainly email, excel and paper-based workflows of data exchange and report generation – is a major undertaking,” said Vogt. “This presentation will outline opportunities and challenges of the ongoing BI project.”
Yellowfin General Manager for EMEA, Daniel Shaw-Dennis, said that the vendor had developed a strong portfolio of use cases within the education industry, and that exploring the successes of the University of Konstanz’s BI program would provide a valuable learning experience for Think Tank 2014 delegates.
“We’re excited and proud to be involved in the University of Konstanz’s ambitious reporting and analytics initiative,” said Shaw-Dennis. “Because of the dedication of Sebastian and others closely involved, the university has developed a commendable example of a widespread user-oriented BI program. This case study displays a series of processes, challenges, solutions and results from which everyone at Think Tank 2014 can benefit.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to assist academic and business decision-makers throughout the University of Konstanz to access and independently analyze fact-based insights. More importantly, we’re assisting those decision-makers to improve the quality of teaching and student services, the effectiveness of government reporting and research grant submission, strategic planning, as well as cooperation between departments and faculties.”
