NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- Digital First Media today premiered a new column by Whoopi Goldberg on the Cannabist, theDenver Post's cannabis-focused news and culture website launched to cover legalized recreational marijuana in Colorado.

Ms. Goldberg's debut column focuses on using marijuana to find relief from glaucoma-induced headaches that she says "come on like freight trains."

In the introduction to her column, the comedian, actress, political activist and talk show host explains that she will be sharing her personal story within the context of "talking about this newly legal weed and admiring the states that have had the foresight to legalize medical marijuana." Her first column focuses on her vape pen which she has nicknamed Sippy.

The idea for the column was born following an appearance by Ricardo Baca, Editor of the Cannabist, on ABC's The View.

"We instantly connected, and her curiosity and desire to discuss the issues surrounding America's ever-changing marijuana laws immediately reminded me of my colleagues back in Denver. Ms. Goldberg's column will appear about every two months on the Cannabist.
