Hyundai Motor Company Australia has announced winners of the inaugural Hyundai Platinum Dealer Program at a ceremony in Melbourne, recognising outstanding achievement from top performing Hyundai dealerships across the nation.
The Hyundai Platinum Dealer Program, launched in 2013 was created to promote the continual improvement of the quality and operation of Hyundai dealerships in the Australian market. The year-long rewards program, with monthly assessment and measurement, culminates in 12 dealerships being recognised for their exceptional efforts and consistent results throughout the year.
Jefferson Hyundai (VIC) received the coveted ‘Platinum Dealer of the Year’ award, whilst a special achievement award was presented to John Hughes Hyundai (WA) for the Highest Sales Volume in 2013 - with record 5,600 vehicles sold in the 12 month period.
“We are extremely proud to have the Hyundai brand represented in the Australian market by a network of dealers of this high calibre who continually strive for excellence and best business practice,” said John Elsworth, Chief Operating Officer Hyundai Motor Company Australia. “The Hyundai Platinum Dealer Program provides an opportunity to recognise and reward our outstanding retail business partners without whom our brand’s success would not be possible.”
Accepting the ‘Platinum Dealer of the Year’ award on behalf of Jefferson Hyundai was Dealer Principal Mr Greg Draffin, who was applauded for having worked tirelessly since joining the brand in 2008, with particular attention to staff and management cohesion, integration and shared goals, culminating in this accolade.
“At Jefferson Hyundai we care about our customers, and we care about the Hyundai brand, and this is wonderful recognition for the enormous amount of work the team at Jefferson Hyundai have done in 2013,” said Greg Draffin, Dealer Principal Jefferson Hyundai. “I am so proud to accept this award for the entire dealership team.”
As part of the Hyundai Platinum Dealer Program dealerships must pass a number of mandatory ‘gateways’ during the year-long assessment. Performance is measured against a series of individual targets and KPI’s set across performance in a number of key areas, including customer satisfaction, dealership facilities, service and parts and achievement of business and sales targets and compliance with Hyundai operational and business standards.
Hyundai Motor Company Australia operates a national network of 160 dealerships across all states, employing over 4,800 dedicated sales staff, service technicians, and operational staff. In 2012 Hyundai sold its 1-millionth car in Australia and today is recognised as the fastest growing automotive brand in the world.
