Are you looking for a unique challenge in 2014 that will help you get fit, travel overseas and change the lives of children in need? The Cambodia Water Challenge could be just what you are looking for!

ChildFund Australia is on the hunt for 20 adventurous Aussies to take part in an unforgettable trip through Cambodia.

The Cambodia Water Challenge will depart in October 2014, raising money to provide safe drinking water and toilets for rural primary schools – a life-changing project that will help improve the health and education of almost 1,000 Cambodian children.

On this 12-day adventure, participants will discover Cambodia by bike and on foot, before heading off the tourist trail to see ChildFund’s work first-hand. Highlights of the trip include exploring the fascinating Angkor temples by bicycle, trekking amidst dense forests, waterfalls and local villages, and meeting some of the children who will benefit from the water and sanitation project.

Participants are asked to raise $3,500 each (and cover their travel costs) to contribute to this vital project. There are all sorts of creative ways people can raise these funds, from trivia nights to garage sales to barbecues.

ChildFund Australia CEO Nigel Spence says: “The lack of access to clean water and sanitation is one of the biggest issues affecting Cambodian children, especially in rural areas. It’s hard to imagine a school without toilets or running water in a country like Australia, but many children in Cambodia go without these facilities and suffer needlessly from preventable diseases as a result. People who sign up for our Cambodia Water Challenge will help change this reality for hundreds of children in rural Cambodia.”

This once-in-a-lifetime adventure will be a rewarding experience and brighten the futures of many disadvantaged children and communities in Cambodia. Spaces are limited, so register today!
