Enterprise Compliance Manager 8.2 Automation Includes Microsoft and Adobe

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire) - ManageSoft -- the leading provider of desktop to datacenter software asset management (SAM) solutions -- announced today the release of its Enterprise Compliance ManagerĀ® (ECM) version 8.2 software. The unprecedented level of automation in ECM 8.2 streamlines the license management process for popular vendors, such as Microsoft and Adobe, which enables enterprises to rapidly reduce software license and maintenance spend.

While other SAM products on the market claim to provide license management, in practice they barely scratch the surface. In contrast, ECM combines application usage analysis, purchase order data, and software entitlements (including product use rights) to determine an accurate license position and optimize software license consumption.

ECM's new level of automation significantly reduces the amount of manual effort required to create and maintain license and contract records. For example, a purchase order stock keeping unit (SKU) number alone can automatically infer the type of license agreement (EA, Select, TLP, CLP, etc.) and the product use rights that are applied to optimize software license consumption -- an industry first.

New user interface wizards have also been added to ECM to facilitate the management of Microsoft Select and Enterprise Agreement contracts. The user is guided, step-by-step, through the setup of a new contract or the renewal of an existing one. The wizards include the definition of licenses, payment schedules, true-ups, and the relationships with master contracts. All of these features make it significantly easier to optimize the SAM process and realize cost savings.

"Many enterprises have struggled to implement effective SAM programs because of the daunting complexity and dynamic nature of license rules," noted Alan Swahn, ManageSoft's vice president of marketing and business development. "With Enterprise Compliance Manager, organizations are now equipped to tackle the problem and achieve a rapid ROI. Our goal is to not only save our customers 15-25% of their software spend, but to keep their estate optimized and in compliance on an ongoing basis."
