Trusted Client and Disk Protect gain international Common Criteria certification
Becrypt today announced that Trusted Client, its USB-based secure, low cost remote working solution, and DISK Protect, its strong user authentication and hard disk encryption solution, have received Common Criteria certification.
Both Trusted Client and DISK Protect are now included on the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) Evaluated Products List (EPL), following evaluation under the Australasian Information Security Evaluation Program.
"Achieving Common Criteria accreditation demonstrates that Becrypt's drive to provide the best encryption and security has not slowed since inception in 2001," said Rory Brennan, CEO, Becrypt ANZ. "Trusted Client addresses the need for low-cost, highly secure mobile access in a 'function and form factor' new to the EPL - with just a USB-token. With Trusted Client organisations can roll out a highly secure remote working solution for around a tenth of the cost of providing their staff with laptop computers."
Trusted Client allows remote workers to access their network from an Internet enabled PC by simply inserting the USB token containing the Trusted Client. The Trusted Client does not use the PC's hard drive and once removed it leaves no trace. Booting the Trusted Client creates an isolated environment on the host PC as well as encrypting the operating system and user data that is stored on the USB device.
DISK Protect encrypts all data on a computer hard drive, including user data, applications and the operating system. Disk Protect also integrates seamlessly with Becrypt's Enterprise Manager so it is easy to deploy in large enterprises.
Common Criteria is an internationally recognised ISO standard (ISO/IEC 15408) used by governments and other organisations to assess the security functional requirements and security assurance requirements of technology products. With its certifications recognised in 26 countries around the world, Common Criteria is an important worldwide evaluation standard for security products.
"Common Criteria gives organisations peace of mind when evaluating vendor products for implementation across their business," said Doug Stuart, COO, stratsec - the Australian-based information security company that conducted the Becrypt evaluations. "Becrypt's Trusted Client and DISK Protect products have been rigorously tested, and organisation's can have the assurance that they meet the stringent requirements for EAL2 certification."
