The Norfolk Island Jazz festival continues to pull out all stops for this year’s Norfolk Island Jazzes it Up line-up. Organisers have just announced sassy Libby O’Donovan and multi-instrumentalist George Washingmachine will be added into the mix, accompanying jazz fans to Norfolk Island.

Libby O’Donovan is a “powerful and sassy performer” (SMH), renowned for her nuanced interpretations and extraordinary voice. She is a critically acclaimed Jazz and Cabaret performer and an award-winning Musical Director.

Adding Norfolk Island to her long list Libby has entertained audiences worldwide with her unique talents, performing in New York, Tokyo and Toronto and Australia-wide. Highly regarded as a solo artist, Libby has performed seasons for the Adelaide Festival of Arts, Edinburgh Fringe, Sydney Spring Festival, Perth International Arts Festival, the International Jazz Educators Convention, Adelaide Cabaret Festival (including working with Broadway composers Jason Robert-Brown and Andrew Lippa), Melbourne Fringe, Adelaide Fringe, Feast Festival, and the Wangaratta Jazz Festival.

George is a multi-instrumentalist - proficient on double bass, guitar or anything with strings! George is also a sought after MC - and has hosted Jazz in the Domain several times, as well as The Darling Harbour Jazz Festival and presented concerts at The Thredbo Jazz Festival and the Taronga Park Zoo New Year's Eve Party. George has also worked in TV and radio. You may have heard George as the voice behind the recent Banana Boat campaign, or his fiddle playing & scatting on the Uncle Toby’s campaign. George is also a composer in his own right.

Both Libby and George will not only appear as performers, joining the impressive festival line-up Evelyn Duprai, Sussurro, Dr Don’s Double Dose, Norfolk Island’s own Rick Robertson, and Down South Jazz Quartet with guest artist Ingrid James, they will also be escorting their own Jazz tour groups.
