The peak Australian electrical industry body, the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA), is pleased to be partnering with the Safety Show Sydney this year, and will give the event its full support.

“Safety is one of the key drivers at NECA,” says James Tinslay, NECA CEO.  “So we will always offer our support to initiatives that encourage people to use their electrical goods with a greater attention to safety.  The recent spate of mobile ‘phone shocks is a good example.  We even had a call this week from a TV journalist who got a shock from pulling the cord from her ‘phone – after it had been charging – before switching the charger off at the mains ,” he added.

The Sydney show is the last safety show for 2013 and  is set to take place at the Sydney Showground from the 3-5 September.  It is a great opportunity for businesses to network with industry experts as well as gain access to cutting-edge knowledge on the latest safety technology and resources. The event will showcase over 150 exhibitors demonstrating the latest safety and offer a series of free seminars from industry experts.

NECA has been working with electrical safety regulators for many years now to help provide an easier way for electrical contractors to identify compliant products.  This is particularly important at a time when we are seeing so many overseas products on the market – often at very low prices, but with no guarantees that they are not potentially dangerous when used in Australia.

The Safety Show Sydney is dedicated to keeping Australian workers safe. So whether you’re in the warehouse, out on-site or in the office, The Safety Show Sydney will be an invaluable event for you to attend.  To register, or for more information, go to http://www.thesafetyshow.com.au/ or call the visitor hotline on 1300 656 184.
