Australian Christians has endorsed its candidates in Western Australia that will contest the 2013 Federal Election.

The WA Branch of Australian Christians will run candidates in all of the 15 House of Representative seats in the State, as well as field two Senate candidates.

Candidates endorsed are Derek Bruning for the Federal seat of Canning, Gail Forder for the Federal electorate of Curtin, Grahame Gould for the Federal seat of Durack, Wayne Barnett for the Federal seat of Forrest, Owen Mulder for the Federal electorate of Fremantle, Rex Host for the Federal seat of Moore, Mike Walsh for the Federal seat of O’Connor, Paul Connelly for the Federal electorate of Perth and John Wieske for the Federal seat of Tangney.

Those also confirmed as Australian Christians candidates for the 2013 Federal Election are Bob Burdett for the Federal electorate of Brand, David Kingston for the Federal seat of Cowan, Jason Whittaker for the Federal electorate of Hasluck, Steve Klomp for the Federal electorate of Swan, Danielle Canas for the Federal seat of Pearce and Kevin Host for the Federal electorate of Stirling.

Australian Christians has also endorsed a two-person Senate team comprising of Jamie Van Burgel and Justin Moseley.

The candidates all have strong Christian backgrounds and have agreed to work hard to ensure positive change and economic growth in their electorates, given the support of the local people.

Australian Christians National President Dwight Randall welcomed them as candidates of Australian Christians, a party formed in 2011 to be a new national Christian party shaped by Christian values including honesty and integrity, hope, respect, moral law, freedom, justice and sacrifice.

“We believe these candidates will uphold these values and play an important role in the future growth and development of Western Australia,” he said.

Mr Randall said Australian Christians offered new hope to Australians.

“As a new party, Australian Christians has developed positive, refreshing, gold standard policies that are based on biblical principles that give every Australian, no matter how old or young, strong or frail, the very best protection and support,” Mr Randall said.

“We strongly believe that our parliaments should do all it can to promote a strong economy and a vibrant society based on healthy families and thriving communities and our policies reflect that belief with a strong emphasis on social justice with responsibility.

“The Bible is our benchmark and gold standard giving us positive solutions to the problems that confront us in our homes and workplaces.”
