Note to Editors: **Download Golf GameBook App for free from the App Store, Google Play or Samsung Apps**

(London, UK, July 18th, 2013) – A free live scoring golf application Golf GameBook has climbed to number one spot on the most downloaded sports apps list on the Canadian App Store. In UK the GameBook app is currently on 5th spot. Success on the rankings comes from organizing the biggest ever and free-to-enter golf tournaments in both countries. In Canada, a great popularity gained Road to the RBC Canadian Open ended on last Sunday. In UK, ten-week-long tournament called GameBook 24/7 Challenge started on July 1st and has awaken the interest of a number of golfers. The same tournament will start in Canada too later this month.

Golf GameBook is making its global breakthrough on several fronts now when golf has become more high-tech than ever. The app has been launched in Canada and in UK this summer and it already got thousands of users from both countries. Together with Golf Canada in CA, GameBook organized the Road to the RBC Canadian Open –contest for Canadian golfers, and in UK the unique 24/7 tournament was launched together with Callaway Golf and Your Golf Travel.

The new tournament concept allows every golfer to participate, no matter the skill level. All golfers have to do is to record their scores with free GameBook app or on online (www.golfgamebook.com) afterwards.

The 24/7 Concept Arouses Huge Interest

With world-class partners GameBook has been able to offer attractive grand prizes of a lifetime: in Canada the winner received a VIP package to the RBC Canadian Open for two and in UK the grand prize is a fourball to La Manga Golf Resort in Murcia, Spain. Also attractive bi-weekly prizes, provided by Callaway Golf, will be given away on every second week.

This interest towards the new concept didn’t come as a surprise to GameBook, but it has exceeded expectations. “The popularity of the competitions has taken us to the top ten of the most downloaded lists in new areas once again. And of course the greatest aspect of this is that these markets are some of the biggest ones in the World – our main markets” says GameBook Ltd.’s CEO, former European Tour Player and PGA professional Kalle Vainola.

“This has also given us the opportunity to discuss with several new potential partners and keep constantly developing our app. We want to serve only the best for the users everyday! It’s great to see that golfers around the globe have understood the extra benefit and the fun that GameBook adds to the game of golf. It’s only fair to talk about tech revolution here. I know it’s a bit cliché but I have to say we’re living in interesting times.”

Golfers’ Social Media

Previously the GameBook app has topped ranking lists in Australia and United States. “People all over the World have discovered the joys of iPhone apps and we are number one when it comes to golf. GameBook is built on a unique idea of playing, sharing and enjoying – golf is more fun when using the GameBook app. Plus it’s super easy to use and looks cool, which I think is very important. We are the only app that offers a social platform, not just the app. GameBook is the fastest growing golf community nowadays, I’d say golfers’ own Facebook” Vainola explains.

The latest addition to the GameBook family is an upgraded online service where you can manage your own GameBook profile and your GameBook friends, as well as follow and comment their games in real-time. All this can be done with the app too. A brand new feature online is a Game Manager, whereby golfers can create bigger tournaments simply with a couple of clicks – and share the url on social media / online / via email after creation.

Every created game gets its own Game Site, which includes all the information about the tournament: live leaderboards, game feed, tee times, results and print outs – like any professional competitions. And in the name of GameBook style, it is garnished with social elements.

“When you are going to play with your buddies on Sunday, you can already create a Game Site on Monday for example and start the ‘trash talk’ there, post photos from your practise sessions, agree possible bets… sky is the limit! People are now seeing GameBook as not just a live mobile scorecard but much more – golfers’ own social community.”
