Kerrie Kerr, a mother of four, took out the title at the Property Women Gala Awards event held in Brisbane on Saturday night.
Property Women Director Rachel Barnes said Kerrie was selected from 100 nominees from around Australia and New Zealand.
‘This ‘Wonder Woman’ bought 25 rentals in Brisbane and regional New South Wales in the past four years and in total has completed 16 renovations,’ Rachel said. ‘On top of this Kerrie manages all of the NSW properties herself. Kerrie is an inspiration and we congratulate her on her amazing success.’
The Property Woman of the Year was selected from the winners of five categories. The winners are:
• Real Tenants Best Property Management, Kerrie Kerr of regional NSW
• Development Diva, Debbie Williams of Adelaide
• Reno Kings Best Newcomer, Cherie White of Sydney
• Cash flow Queen, Prue Muirhead of Adelaide
• Reno Queen, Jacinta Scicluna of Lennox Head
“We are thrilled to be able to offer Kerrie, our very first property Woman of the Year, a five day property tour in the south west of France,” Rachel said.
Close to 200 women and men attended the Gala night, which aimed to recognize the achievements of all women in property.
“We wanted to recognize and reward the achievements of women who have taken action, overcome challenges and succeeded in property investing, particularly during a Global Financial Crisis,’ she said.
“It is fantastic to see so many women out there making a mark in property, which has traditionally been ‘male territory’.
“We are grateful to all the nominees, finalists and winners for sharing their property investment experiences with us. The best way to learn is to get out there and take action, but also to listen and learn from people who are achieving the results you want.”
Many of the nominees and winners will share their property knowledge and investing know-how with other women at the upcoming Property Women Success Leaves Clues networking events scheduled for Brisbane (February 23), Sydney (February 24), Melbourne (March 2), Adelaide (March 3) and Perth (August 9).
