South Australia’s premier tourism and transport operator, SeaLink and Captain Cook Cruises, played hosts to over 90 international industry partners from all over Australia last week at an exclusive cocktail function held during the ATEC Symposium held in Adelaide.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the SeaLink and Captain Cook Cruises array of products and services to the tourism industry from around Australia, including Inbound Tour Operators, Tourism Australia and State Tourism Organisations,“ said Donna Gauci, General Manager of SeaLink’s South Australian businesses.
Guests were transported in SeaLink coaches to the cocktail style event which was held in the Adelaide Hills at the stunning Petaluma’s Bridgewater Mill.
“It was also a great opportunity for guests to network with each other and to enjoy the delicious local food and wine from the Adelaide Hills region," said Ms Gauci.
Over 300 tourism industry delegates from across Australia gathered in Adelaide for the annual Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) Symposium conference held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on 6 & 7 June.
The conference showcased some of the industry’s major identities, issues and challenges and an opportunity for industry to speak with Federal representatives about their plans for the $30 billion export tourism industry in this election year.
Following the conference, SeaLink and the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) invited selected delegates on ‘pre and post-conference’ touring to Kangaroo Island. Many delegates were from Eastern Hemisphere inbound tour operator companies and enjoyed the tours offered immensely.
Ms Gauci said that they will now have more knowledge of Kangaroo Island and will be more skilled in arranging tours and packages for the inbound tourists that they bring into this country.
SeaLink’s fleet of Adelaide based coaches were also on hand for ATEC delegates touring to places such as the new Jurlique Farm, the famous Penfolds Magill Estate and also for social program transfers.
