TAFE SA has appointed Jeff Gunningham as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The Board of TAFE SA is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation following a national and international search.

Jeff Gunningham has held leadership roles in vocational education, training and higher education in Australia, the UK and the United Arab Emirates.

His most recent appointment was as Principal and Chief Executive of Swansea College in Wales. Previous to this, he was the Managing Director of Education and Training for all government schools and TAFE colleges in Western Australia. Jeff has also been CEO of three TAFE colleges in Australia including Karratha College in the Pilbara and Central Metropolitan College of TAFE in Perth.

Chair Peter Vaughan said Mr Gunningham would oversee the ongoing transformation of TAFE SA from its current three Institutes – TAFE SA Adelaide North, Adelaide South and Regional – into one unified operation.

“We had an extremely strong field of applicants and we are pleased to have been able to secure someone of Jeff’s international experience and reputation,” Mr Vaughan said.

“The Board has made a commitment to transform TAFE SA into a united entity that is not only delivering in the present but also prepared for the future and Jeff’s appointment is another critical piece of that planning.

“On behalf of everyone at TAFE SA, we are delighted to welcome Jeff to South Australia and believe he and the new executive team will help us deliver a more cohesive, flexible and responsive organisation that is fully prepared to meet the competitive challenges of a changing market.”

Mr Gunningham will commence in the role on Monday 3rd June.
